More of This 03:05
More Of This (Dunn/Hayman) Waking up this morning, Wrapped around you tight Feels so much better Than what I do most nights Some nights it’s tequila, Some days it’s red wine But lying here beside you, lying here beside you Beats that every time There’s just one conclusion That I can arrive at Gotta do a whole lot more this, and a whole less of that x2 A whole lot more of this, and less of that There was something missing, But now I clearly see Life is so much better When you are here with me You are my sweet Amia Bathed in soft moonshine, It smiles on you beside me, love light on you beside me, Gets me every time. Days fly by and soon they’re gone Time won’t slow down for anyone If you find a love that’s right Run to her, Please hold her tight

This Time 03:59
This Time (John Hayman) Blackfoot Julie We’ll hold the love in You’ve given our family We’ll miss your big heart Warm as the good earth That covers our valley But know that where you take this dance Remember, you take a chance But take it Reach for the sky Pull it right over A blanket of nighttime Take it Reach for the stars that cover the highway Maybe you’ll find it this time Verse 2 Sister Sandy With green eyes flashing To light up the evening Your smile sends ripples All through the water Clear to the meaning But know that where you take this dance Remember, you take a chance But take it Reach for the sky Pull it right over A blanket of nighttime Take it Reach for the stars that cover the highway Maybe you’ll find it this time I can just see you Out on the highway Dancing to rhythms That won’t let you go I wish I was someone High in a pickup And looking for ladies in old Mexico, Now

about

The Dunmann Society is
Tom Dunn and Jukebox John Hayman
Recorded at Twang, Jangle, and Throb Studios, Shutesbury, MA, 2022

This Time is dedicated to the memories of Julie LaMontagne and Sandy Latarro, somewhere on the cosmic highway

50 Years In The Making (almost)
“This Time” - Tom Dunn and I were music buddies back in the 70s, but lost contact when Tom moved to Upper State New York. We reconnected recently, and Tom sang a song for me called “This Time”. “That’s interesting,” I said, “who wrote it?” Tom replied, “You did.” I did not remember it at first, but it slowly came back to me that I did, indeed, pen it. I wrote it in 1974 as a traveling song for two housemates, Julie and Sandy, who were going on vacation to Mexico. The song is a bit hippy 1970s. You can almost smell the bellbottoms. But people seemed to like it, so Tom and I (with the help of Alan Kurtz) recorded it, almost 50 years after it was written.

More Of This - I had written the melody and words to a verse and the chorus for this song. I gave it to Tom to see if he could finish it. A couple of days later he got back to me with another chorus, a bridge, and the arrangement. He’s not called “Fast Tommy Dunn” for nothing. With Alan Kurtz’s help again we recorded it.

So think of this as a double A side single like in the old days but without an insert.

I hope you enjoy it,
